TANITA TIKARAM - ONLY THE ONES WE LOVE

Oh, you can't say nothing to the pouring rain
And you can't say nothing till there's hope
Again -
(Say) - oh my baby - you must never change
For we're only the ones we love
And I've stood stolen by the pauper's heart
Yes, I've stood stolen where the aching starts
But the way you watched - it's a life apart

For we're only the ones we love
Only
Only
You're the only one who could say
I could love this way
I could love this way

Oh, you can't get even with this kind of pain
But to see you steady brings the calm, again
(Say) - oh my baby - let them stay the same
For we're only the ones we love
And they've seen something which I'll never see
But - I dreamed something when you fell for me
(Yeah) I dreamed something which soars above

For we're only the ones we love
Only the ones we love
Yes, love, and love, mmm, mmm
This love, love
Oh, I get tired - and I get old
But to see you steady brings a flood of gold
(Say, oh, my baby) - I've been taught and told

We're only the ones we love
Only the ones we love
Love, love, mmm, mmm
This love, mmmm, mmm

Oxi allo twist in my sobriety omws !!!! :)

MULATU ASTATKE

Mulatu Astatke (born 1943; surname sometimes spelled Astatqé on French-language releases, and ሙላቱ አስታጥቄ in his native Amharic) is an Ethiopian musician and arranger best known as the father of Ethio-jazz.

Born in the western Ethiopian city of Jimma, Mulatu was musically trained in London, New York City, and Boston where he combined his jazz and latin-music interests with traditional Ethiopian music. Astatke led his band while playing vibraphone and conga drums—instruments that he introduced into Ethiopian popular music—as well as other percussion instruments, keyboards and organ. His albums focus primarily on instrumental music, and Astatke appears on all three known albums of instrumentals that were released during Ethiopia's Golden ’70s.[1]

TUXEDOMOON - VICTIMS OF THE DANCE & JINX

Tuxedomoon is an experimental Post-punk/New Wave group formed in San Francisco, Californiaconsisting of core members Blaine L. Reininger, Steven Brown and Peter Principle.

Formed in 1977 by multi-instrumentalists Blaine L. Reininger and Steven Brown, then two students of electronic music at San Francisco City College, with technical assistance from video artist Tommy Tadlock, Tuxedomoon started playing salons and accompanying performances by Angels of Light. Brown's connections to local theatre gave the band access to vocalists Gregory Cruikshank, Victoria Lowe, and, most frequently, Winston Tong, the latter bringing along filmmaker and performance artistBruce Geduldig who, in an unusual capacity for a band member, took care of the band's visuals, both live and on video.[1] The band gained some level of recognition in 1978 when they opened for Devo.Michael Belfer, (guitarist), and Paul Zahl, (drummer) joined the band in time to help with the group's first EP, No Tears (ironically, given that this was the only time the band used a live drummer, "No Tears (For the Creatures of the Night)" became a perennial club hit thereafter, prompting many requests over the years for this song during live concerts -- rarely acquiesced.)[2] Lowe left prior to the album's release in 1978. Soon afterward, Tong and Belfer left the group temporarily, and bassist Peter Principle joined the lineup. In 1979, the group signed to The Residents' Ralph Records, with whom they recorded their next two albums, Half Mute and Desire, (which was recorded in England with Gareth Jones.) In late 1980 the band relocated to Rotterdam for a short time and then moved on to Brussels, believing their sound better fit the electronic scene in Europe.

The band soon created the score for a ballet by Maurice Béjart, which was released in 1982 as Divine. In 1983 Reininger left the group in order to pursue a solo career, and trumpeter Luc Van Lieshoutjoined. In 1985 Tuxedomoon had its largest success commercially with the international release ofHoly Wars. Tong left the group again soon after its release. Multi-instrumentalist Ivan Georgiev was brought in to perform on the group's next two albums, 1986's Ship of Fools and 1987's You. The band remained inactive through most of the 1990s, although never technically broke up.

On July 20, 2004 a reborn Tuxedomoon, consisting of Steven Brown, Blaine Reininger, Peter Principle, and Luc Van Lieshout released a new studio album, Cabin in the Sky. They had been given the opportunity to spend over two months together[3] in Cagli, Italy, at the Teatro di Cagli under a program begun by theater director and then-mayor of the town, Sandro Pascucci[4]. They continue to work and tour together and have since released Bardo Hotel Soundtrack in 2006. For the group's 30th year anniversary in 2007 they released another studio album, Vapour Trails. At this time, Crammed Discs released the box set 77o7 Tm (the 30th Anniversary Box) containing: Vapour Trails, Unearthed: Lost Cords, a collection of previously unreleased recordings, 162o7 (39°N 7°W), a live concert recorded on February 16, 2007 in Portalegre, Portugal, as well as a DVD (in both PAL and NTSC editions) Unearthed: Found Films, rare videos from 1977 - 1988.[5] The box set was designed by noted graphic designerJonathan Barnbrook.[6]

In 2008, writer/journalist Isabelle Corbisier[7] published a 476-page biography, entitled Music For Vagabonds - The Tuxedomoon Chronicles covering the band's entire career as well as members' solo activities.[8]

Band members Steven Brown, Bruce Geduldig, Luc Van Lieshout, Peter Principle, Blaine L. Reininger, and Winston Tong continue to work, as they have always done, on solo and other collaborative projects

Ataraxia is an Italian neoclassical[1] band who combine modern technology with archaic instrumentation over various media. They describe their music as a cross "between sacred andprofane, ethereal and neo-classical, contemporary and early music". They make researches into the European legends crossing the Greek and Latin myths. Their lyrics are written in many ancient and contemporary languages. Many of their performances take place in locations the band believes to possess specific spiritual qualities. Since the beginning of the group in the late 1980s, they have released more than 20 original LPs.

Marshall Bruce Mathers III (born October 17, 1972),[1] better known by his stage name Eminem, is an American rapper, record producer, and actor. Eminem quickly gained popularity in 1999 with his major-label debut album, The Slim Shady LP, which won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. The following album, The Marshall Mathers LP, became the fastest-selling solo album in United States history.[2] It brought Eminem increased popularity, including his own record label, Shady Records, and brought his group project, D12, to mainstream recognition.

The Marshall Mathers LP and his third album, The Eminem Show, also won Grammy Awards, making Eminem the first artist to win Best Rap Album for three consecutive LPs. He then won the award again in 2010 for his album Relapse and in 2011 for his album Recovery, giving him a total of 13 Grammys in his career. In 2003, he won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Lose Yourself" from the film, 8 Mile, in which he also played the lead. "Lose Yourself" would go on to become the longest running No. 1 hip hop single.[3] Eminem then went on hiatus after touring in 2005. He released his first album since 2004's Encore, titled Relapse, on May 15, 2009. Eminem is the best-selling artist of the decade on the US Nielsen SoundScan,[4] and has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide to date, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world.[5] In 2010, Eminem released his seventh studio album Recovery. It became Eminem's sixth consecutive number-one album in the US and achieved international commercial success, charting at number one in several other countries. It stayed at number-one on the US Billboard 200 chart for five consecutive weeks and a total of seven weeks.[6][7] Recovery was also reported by Billboard to be the best-selling album of 2010, making Eminem the first artist in Nielsen SoundScan history to have two year-end best-selling albums.[8]

Eminem was ranked 79th on the VH1 100 Greatest Artists of All-Time.[9] He was also ranked 82nd on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.[10] He was also named the Best Rapper Alive by Vibe magazine in 2008.[11] Including his work with D12, Eminem has achieved nine No. 1 albums on the Billboard Top 200, 7 solo (6 studio albums, 1 compilation) and 2 with D12.[12] Eminem has had 13 number one singles worldwide. In December 2009, Eminem was named the Artist of the Decade by Billboard magazine.[13] His albums The Eminem Show, The Marshall Mathers LP, and Encore (in order) ranked as the 3rd,[14] 7th,[14] and 40th[15] best-selling albums of the 2000–2009 decade by Billboard magazine. Also according to Billboard, Eminem has two of his albums among the top five highest selling albums of the 2000s. In the UK, Eminem has sold over 12.5 million records.[16] Eminem has also sold more than 33 million track downloads and 39.6 million albums in the United States alone.[17] In 2010, MTV ranked Eminem as the 7th biggest icon in pop music history.[18] During 2010, Eminem's music generated 94 million streams, more than any other music artist.[17] "Love The Way You Lie", the second single from 2010's Recovery was the best-selling single of 2010 in the United Kingdom even though it did not reach number 1 there, the first time this has happened in the UK since 1969. Paradise Lost - Never Again

Murder more or less,
The anger rages
Blame your loneliness,
Blame your situation

The essence is how
Much pleasure allowed
Solution is stealing

The times that you try,
So many must die,
Their loss so appealing

Murder more or less
The sense engages
Blame unwillingness
Blame your complications

The essence is how,
Much pleasure allowed,
Solution is stealing
Times that you try
So many must die
Their loss appealing

Is it too much to say?
Never again, never again

Is it too much to say?
Never again, never again

Madness - Baggy Trousers

What a piece!
What a band!

Madness are a British pop/ska band from Camden Town, London, that formed in 1976.[2] The band continue to perform with their most recognised lineup of seven members, although their lineup has varied slightly over the years. They were one of the most prominent bands of the late-1970s 2 Tone ska revival.[3]

Madness achieved most of their success in the early to mid 1980s. Both Madness and UB40spent 214 weeks on the UK singles charts over the course of the decade, holding the record for most weeks spent by a group in the 1980s UK singles charts. However, Madness achieved this in a shorter time period (1980–1986).[4][5][6]

The Avalanches - Frontier Psychiatrist

Origins

The Avalanches began in 1994 as Alarm 115, a noise-punk outfit inspired by The Animals of Steel, Drive Like Jehu, The Fall, and Ultra Bidet.[2] The band (Darren Seltmann, Robbie Chater, Tony Diblasi and Manabu Etoh) bought all their instruments at junk shops, where they also discovered piles of old records. When Etoh was deported and Alarm 115 ended, those records became the core of a new project. Chater was a film student at RMIT, and had access to a recording studio there, which he and Seltmann used to turn said vinyl into a 30-song demo tape labeled Pan Amateurs.[2] In 1997, A new lineup (Seltmann, Chater, Diblasi, and Gordon McQuilten) was assembled to play the tunes live, debuting in July under the name Swinging Monkey Cocks.[2] Their first four shows were played under four different names.

[edit]Early releases

They officially became The Avalanches at their fifth gig - a support slot for Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - and rose to prominence quickly. Their name comes from one of the group's favorite records, "Ski Surfing With The Avalanches", by an American surf band from the Fifties.[3]

Trifekta Records released the debut 7" Rock City in spring 1997. This was followed in December by the El Producto EP on Steve Pavlovic's Wondergram Records. Around this time DJ Dexter officially joined the band on turntables.[2] Based on the EP's success, Pavlovic signed The Avalanches to his new Modular Recordings label in May 1998. Months later, Leo Silvermann signed them to his Rex Records for the exclusive UK 10" "Undersea Community".[4]
