Autechre - Foil

Autechre are an English electronic music group consisting of Rob Brown and Sean Booth, both natives of Rochdale, Greater Manchester. Formed in 1987, the duo are one of the most prominent acts signed with Warp Records, a label known for its pioneering electronic music and through which all Autechre albums have been released. While most associated with IDM (intelligent dance music), Booth and Brown are ambivalent in relating their sound to established genres.[1] Their music has exhibited a gradual shift in aesthetic throughout their career, from their earlier work with clear roots intechno, electro and hip hop to later albums that are often considered experimental in nature, featuring complex patterns of rhythm and subdued melodies. Oversteps, their most recent album, was released on February 22nd 2010.

Autechre have also recorded under various pseudonyms. One of the duo's earliest recordings was a 12" under the alias Lego Feet, released in 1991 on Skam Records. The majority of releases by the mysterious "umbrella project" Gescom, most of them on Skam, have been attributed to Booth and Brown, among other artists.

Detektivbyrån ("The Detective Agency") is a Swedish electronicaand folk music duo from Gothenburg. The group consists of Anders "Flanders" Molin (accordion, music box) and Martin "MacGyver" Molin (glockenspiel, traktofon, toy piano, Theremin).

The two members grew up in the small town of Karlstad Sweden, located in Värmland County, but they did not form a band until they had moved to Gothenburg in 2005[1]. The usage of more unusual instruments such as the accordion was inspired both by its prominent use in the soundtrack for Amélie as well as musical traditions in Värmland. As the band also played as street musicians there was originally also a requirement to have portable instruments such as the glockenspiel[2][3].

Between 2006 and 2008 the band toured extensively and also participated in several Swedish radio and tv shows including a program at MTV Europe[4].

On September 3, 2008, Detektivbyrån released their first full-length album, Wermland. The band was nominated for twoGrammis awards, as newcomer of the year and folk music of the year in 2008[5]. In addition they were also nominated for an award at Manifestgalan as the best live act of 2008[6].

In February 2009 Jon Nils Emanuel Ekström left the band, leaving the two remaining band members still working on the future album tentatively named "Beyond"[7]. Ekström has previously been playing drums, sound box, small bellson the bands albums and concerts. The band has also recently been contributing to the soundtrack of the American film Tenure.
