Tricky - Overcome

Tricky (born Adrian Nicholas M. Thaws on 27 January 1968) is an English[2] musician and actor. As a producer and a musician, he is noted for a dark, rich and layered sound and a whispering sprechgesanglyrical style. Culturally, Tricky encourages an intertwining of societies, particularly in his musical fusion of rock and hip hop, high art and pop culture. His debut album Maxinquaye was nominated for the Mercury Prize and voted Album of the Year by NME Magazine.

Eventually he met DJ Milo and hung out with a sound system called The Wild Bunch, which by 1987 evolved into Massive Attack. He received the nickname 'Tricky Kid' and at 18 he became a member of theFresh 4, a rap group built from The Wild Bunch. He also rapped on Massive Attack's acclaimed debut album Blue Lines (1991).

He left Massive Attack to release his debut album, Maxinquaye. The album was a massive success and Tricky was catapulted to international fame,[citation needed] something he was notably uncomfortable with. This was because the impact of his album truly set the stage for trip-hop within the black community in the United Kingdom. Tricky was able to do so much with his music by incorporating different musical genres in his sound, but ultimately making sure he made the overall product his own. In fact, the Maxinquaye album review by the Rolling Stone magazine read, "Tricky devoured everything from American hip-hop and soul to reggae and the more melancholic strains of 80s British rock."[3] It is important to note that Tricky paid tribute to early hip-hop artists whose music was, and still is, influential in the hip-hop scene. He also incorporated commercial pop music into his music, and by combining early hip-hop and pop samples in his music, he found a way to appeal to both audiences, which rarely happens. As Hesmondhalgh and Melville wrote, "Tricky showed his debt to hip-hop aesthetics by reconstructualizing samples and slices of both the most respected black music (Public Enemy) and the tackiest pop (quoting David Cassidy’s “How Can I Be Sure?”)."[4] Mixing all of these elements, Tricky created "a mercurial style of dance music that immediately finds it own fast feet."[3]

joy division - decades...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMAB3r6EjcM

Joy Division were an English rock band formed in 1976 in Salford, Greater Manchester. Originally named Warsaw, the band primarily consisted of Ian Curtis (vocals and occasional guitar), Bernard Sumner (guitar and keyboards),[1] Peter Hook (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Stephen Morris (drums and percussion).

Joy Division rapidly evolved from their initial punk rock influences, to develop a sound and style that pioneered the post-punk movement of the late 1970s. According to music critic Jon Savage, the band "were not punk but were directly inspired by its energy".[2] Their self-released 1978 debut EP, An Ideal for Living, caught the attention of the Manchester television personality Tony Wilson. Joy Division's debut album,Unknown Pleasures, was released in 1979 on Wilson's independent record label Factory Records, and drew critical acclaim from the British press. Despite the band's growing success, vocalist Ian Curtis was beset with depression and personal difficulties, including a dissolving marriage and his diagnosis with epilepsy. Curtis found it increasingly difficult to perform at live concerts, and often had seizures during performances.

On the eve of the band's first American tour in May 1980, Curtis, overwhelmed with depression, committed suicide. Joy Division's posthumously released second album, Closer (1980), and the single "Love Will Tear Us Apart" became the band's highest charting releases. After the death of Curtis, the remaining members reformed as New Order, achieving critical and commercial success.

TERRORVISION - SOME PEOPLE SAY

Popo... san na sou leei ante kai g....ou..:

lyrics:

Some people say that what I know should be kept secret
Some people say I don't know anything at all
Some people say that what I do could be dangerous
Some people say I don't do anything at all
Some people say this is a song that needs the drums in
Some people say no it's a song for the bass
Some people say that they can't stand what they're hearing
Some people say who gives a damn what they say
Do you think I care, do you think I care
Do you think I know or I'm aware
Do you think I care what you say when I'm oblivious
Some people say that I look just like my father
Some people say I've got my mother's eyes
Some people say I'm like my brother 'cos I'm honest and truthful
Some people say they know my brother's just another lie
Do you think I care, do you think I care
Do you think I know or I'm aware
Do you think I care what you say when I'm oblivious
Some people say that we should let the search continue
Some people say just what the hell's going on
Do you think I care, do you think I care
Do you think I know or I'm aware
Do you think I care what you say when I'm oblivious
Do you think I care, do you think I care
Do you think I know or I'm aware
Do you think I care what you say when I'm oblivious

Foo Fighters is an American rock band from Seattle,Washington, formed in 1995. Singer and guitarist Dave Grohl formed the group as a one-man project after the dissolution of his previous band,Nirvana, in 1994. Prior to the release of the band'seponymous debut album in 1995, Grohl drafted Nate Mendel as bassist,William Goldsmithas drummer, andPat Smear as guitarist to complete the group. The band was small, young, and they began with performances in Portland, Oregon before gaining popularity. Goldsmith left during the recording of the group's second album, The Colour and the Shape(1997), and Smear's departure followed soon afterward. They were replaced by Taylor Hawkins and Franz Stahl, respectively, although Stahl left prior to the recording of the group's third album,There Is Nothing Left to Lose (1999).

Chris Shiflett joined as the band's second guitarist after the completion of There Is Nothing Left to Lose. The band released its fourth album, One by One, in 2002. The group followed that release with the two-disc In Your Honor (2005), which was split between acoustic songs and harder-rocking material. Foo Fighters released its sixth album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, in 2007. Over the course of the band's existence, three of its albums have won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album, and all six have been nominated for Grammys.

बद्मार्ष एंड श्री - Signs

Badmarsh & Shri
are an electronic/trip hop duo from London, UK

Prior to their formation, Badmarsh (whose name means 'rascal' in Hindi) worked at the reggae studio Easy Street; which was hiring PA equipment to a nightclub called Labyrinth. After a visit to Labyrinth, he became interested in DJing, and almost immediately went out to buy DJ turntables and records; he later secured a residency position at the club, where he remained for five years. Shri, on the other hand, had spent five years touring with Nitin Sawhney, who later produced his debut solo album Drum the Bass. The album was well received in Europe.

The duo came together through Shabs, head of Outcaste Records, who thought that the pair's individually different sounds would complement each other in a group. The duo released their debut album Dancing Drums in 1998, which contained a culmination of drum and bass, hip hop, Indian classical music and jazz

In 2001, Badmarsh & Shri released their second album, Signs (co-produced by Mike Spencer) through Outcaste Records. A continuation of their musical migration[1], the album was considered panoramic dance music by the record's publishers, switching between dancefloor music, and a more sensuous, chilled style.

"We wanted to make music that moved you on the dancefloor as well as at home. Everything had to be emotive, whether it made you angry or made you swoon. But it also had to funk. We wanted it to be about feeling rather than thinking - that was our vision,"

The duo drew their inspiration from their respective backgrounds of dancehall and hip-hop, as well as funk, Latin and African rhythms. They also made use of strings, synthesizers and flute, along with the vocal talents of UK Apache, who is also considered an integral part of live shows.
